It’s All about Communication
This Huffington Post article about why young man are afraid to marry speaks about how men want to avoid the financial risks of divorce.
The issue is not so much marriage or divorce – it is communication. In spite of all our technology and our communication skills we aren’t hearing each other. This is made worse by the growing malaise of fear about our future. So many of us are in emotional and literal survival. From that place it is difficult to relax and trust another. Often all you want to do is protect yourself and your processions.
When we allow ourselves to feel and express our feelings we may not always get what we want, yet we are much more likely to accept what does occur. It’s risky being vulnerable, but I know of no other way to have a successful marriage or life.
