Mother Nature Doesn’t Do Bailouts

But she with Father Greed have hit the wall at once to co-create “The Great Disruption,” according to Paul Gilding, the Australian environmental expert. This quote and the title of the post is from a New York Times Op-Ed piece by Thomas L. Friedman a former chief economic correspondent for the Times and Pulitzer Prize winner.

Thomas Friedman, American journalist, columnis...

According to Friedman, change is happening. He defines wealth as being “something you can pass on in a way that others can enjoy.” Both economically and environmentally this is not occurring. Both of these systems are unable to sustain the rate and amount of our growth so they are collapsing.

We can see this just as the crisis it is or we can see these times as a portal to a new way of being in the world. How are you making the shift? What are you doing to shift from being at effect of events to causing the change you want? Share your thoughts, insights and feelings. We need you.

  1. I think this is one reason why Obama inspires such devotion: he isn’t just talking about political change. When our economy focuses on green energy sources, the planet will be cleaner, healthier and more beautiful for everyone.
