WDS (The World Domination Summit) is one of the top 10 conferences of the year. Started last year by Chris Guillebeau, WDS soared to become the hot conference to go to and at which to present. The 1000 spots available for attendees sold out in less than 20 minutes, immediately creating a waiting list of 4,000.
Because of your support, our bid/offer to present was chosen out of hundreds. It then filled up before 9AM, the day participants could choose which presentation to attend. I doubt it was our good looks that filled it up. I suspect it was the interest in micro-communities and the loyal support from our audience.
More with less
We all want more out of life. We want to feel truly connected to people and we want to make a difference. More and more people realize you need your own tribe to accomplish those tasks. Our ancestors had their tribes – why can’t we?
World domination starts with local support. Today, even with our global Internet community, we still need our local support base. You can comment on posts, email and tweet to your friends, but you still need that live person in front of you to empathize with you. Once someone deeply connects to you in person, it’s worth more than a hundred on the Internet telling you how great you are.
The void left from our social and technological development is filled by these simple micro-communities. For many it’s the hunger they didn’t realize they had, until someone told them about the concept of micro-communities.
With a little initial effort, you can organize a group of people to start your own micro. All you need to do is go to our site, www.mencorps.org to download our free guide. The set of Word docs will give you all you need to start a micro-community of your own.
Do it. You and your family will be glad you did. Let us know how it goes.
