Owen, this really inspired me to take a weekend with my own son to let him fully express himself as a young boy. We spent the day at the lake (just the two of us) where I allowed him to have more freedom to get dirty, push the boundaries of his own body and be joyful.

What a beautiful interview. Both in the questions asked and the answers given.

Thank you Owen for being remarkable yourself, for being a man who supports men in deepening their relationships with themselves and women, rather than learning techniques or tricks.

I continue to find that getting real and being honest creates intimacy and passion unlike anything else I've experienced. It's not easy, but for me it's been worth it. Here's to more of that!

Comment on Guess What? Men Are More Sensitive (emotional) than Women, Part 2 by 11

Great article! I've been trying to tell people for years that men are more sensitive than were trained to believe. I should know, I'm a highly sensitive girl, and even at a very young age I made sure I came off aggressive and stoic to hide it. Funny enough, it was when I met my boyfriend that I started to come to terms with my own sensitivity. The problem with sensitivity is that it can be an advantage, but if you ignore it and let it gain control of you you become the opposite of sensitive; you become self centered, you must protect yourself no matter what. I found that since I was taught men "are not biologically capable of emotional sensitivity", I would ruthlessly say whatever cutting words I could to my boyfriend to make sure he felt it. And what grace he handled it with, never has he sunk as low as me. After I was satisfied with the amount of screaming and shouting I'd done, I would feel so totally over it and ready to move on with the night, but my bf would still be sitting there like his dog died. He's sensitive about other things too, he absolutely cannot fathom why I don't want to be touched while I'm sleeping (it wakes me up!). I'm more sensitive about things going on around me, like if the house is messy or if I feel fat. Now that we have the internet to connect us with people all over the world, and now that people are becoming more liberated in being themselves, it's interesting to watch the change in gender roles.

Terrific article, Owen, and an excellent resource for men who are seeking more depth in their lives, their relationships, and their personal experience. I've already shared it with some other men I know and will continue to do so as opportunities present.
